Before you read the next sentence, I want you to close your eyes .This momentary loss of your vision is what visually impaired individuals live with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lions Lake Norman Regional Golf Tournament’s primary purpose is to raise funds for the vision impaired throughout the year. This year's tournament will be held April 24th, 2017 at NorthStone Country Club located in Huntersville, NC. We hope you will join us as we have fun raising funds for this great cause.
Your charitable contributions support many needs. NC Lions run an adult summer camp for the visually impaired located at Sherrill’s Ford on Lake Norman. There, for one full week, Camp Dogwood provides many activities such as tubing, crafts, bowling, miniature golf and horseback riding.
Lions Services, Inc. located in Charlotte NC offers employment for over 200 visually impaired adults and supports a free eye clinic. Eye exams and glasses are provided free of charge to those in need. The Lion Services Eye Clinic’s volunteer doctors process approximately 5,000 cases a year of which 60 percent are children.
Lions Clubs International, through the support of local Lions Clubs, helps fund eye research and supports eye doctors throughout the world. North Carolina Lions operate a Mobile Eye Screening Unit throughout NC manned by local Lions Club members. We Lions collect and recycle used glasses by the tractor trailer load.
In the last ten years we have raised over $100,000 to support our charities. Our next milestone is to double that and raise $100,000 over the next five years. Please join us.
